Day 1. CDMX
Reception at the airport or bus terminal in Mexico City. Transfer to selected hotel. Free time at leisure. Lodging.
DAY 2. CDMX – CITY TOUR – NATIONAL ART MUSEUM MUNAL (TUES-SUN)
At 09:00 a.m., appointment to start the city tour along the famous Reforma Avenue where you will find points of interest such as: La Diana Cazadora and the Angel of Independence. We will continue to Juárez Avenue where the Hemiciclo a Juárez, the central Alameda and the monumental Palacio de Bellas Artes (panoramic view) are located. We will continue to the Plaza de la Constitución, better known as the Zócalo, where the Metropolitan Cathedral, Templo Mayor and the National Palace are located. We will continue our tour arriving at the National Museum of Art MUNAL, formerly known as the Palace of Communications and Public Works, is considered one of the most important architectural works of the country in the early twentieth century. Its function is to preserve, exhibit, study and disseminate works of art produced in Mexico between the second half of the sixteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century, thus offering a global and synthesized vision of the history of Mexican art of this period. Day 3. CDMX -XOCHIMILCO- UNIVERSITY CITY (DAILY)
At 09:00 a.m., appointment to go to Xochimilco, where aboard a traditional and colorful trajinera we will travel for about an hour through the canals full of history, seeing on our way chinampas of ornamental flowers and local artisans. Finally we will have a panoramic view of the Ciudad Universitaria Library with murals by Juan O’Gorman, Mexico’s Olympic Stadium and the residential area of Pedregal de San Angel, built on a lava field. Return to your hotel.
Optionally you can live a vibrant and cultural experience at night, in one of the most emblematic squares of our country: Garibaldi, where we will visit the famous Salón Tenampa, a place that was the inspiration of José Alfredo Jiménez and favorite cantina of Frida Kahlo, Chavela Vargas, Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante, Lucha Villa, Alejandro Fernández, Luis Miguel, Oscar de la Renta and many other national and international celebrities who have given life to this place in their movies. Afterwards, we will enter a Night Show Center where we will enjoy live music, mariachi, folkloric ballet, etc. In addition, we will have a complimentary drink. At the end of the tour we will return to the hotel.
Day 4. CDMX – ANTHROPOLOGY + NATIONAL MUSEUM OF HISTORY (TUES-SUN)
Meet in the lobby at 09:00 hrs. to start the visit to one of the most important museums in Mexico and America, the National Museum of Anthropology, has 24 exhibition halls, of which 22 are permanent and two halls for temporary exhibitions. We will visit the Teotihuacan and Mexica rooms because they are considered the most flourishing of the pre-Columbian era. Later we will arrive at the National Museum of History, located in the Chapultepec Castle, it is the precinct that keeps the memory of the history of Mexico, from the conquest of Tenochtitlan to the Mexican Revolution. Its rooms show a diversity of objects representative of four centuries of Mexico’s history. Although it was created as a rest house, over time it was adapted to different uses: it was a military college, imperial residence with Maximilian and Carlota (1864-1867), presidential residence and, since 1939, home of the Museum. At the end of the tour, return to your hotel. Overnight.
